Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website and enquiries you send us about our services.

Our own software ventures, such as QuoteSmiths, are separate products with their own terms and their own privacy policies. Sites we link to are governed by their own policies, not this one.

The only place this website collects personal information is the consultation form on our Let’s Talk page at /book. Nothing else on the site collects anything: there is no newsletter signup, no account, no login and no chat, and the interactive controls elsewhere on the site only change what is displayed to you.

If you send us an enquiry through that form, we receive:

• Your first name, and your last name if you give it.
• Your email address.
• Your phone number and business name, if you choose to give them.
• What you are looking to build, and where you are up to, from the two lists on the form.
• Whatever you write in the message.
• The fact that you ticked the box agreeing we may contact you about it.

We use it to answer you, and, if we go on to work together, to provide our services. Nothing on that form is required beyond what we need to reply: the phone number, the business name and the second list are all optional.

This site sets no cookies. That is why you are not shown a cookie banner and are not asked for cookie consent.

The site stores one thing in your browser: a session storage entry named ls-splash-played, holding the value "1". Its only job is to remember that the opening animation has already played, so it is not repeated every time you move around the site in the same tab. It contains no personal information, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.

We do not run analytics, tracking pixels, advertising tags, session recording or fingerprinting on this site. We do not measure page views, clicks, scroll depth or time on page.

No third-party scripts, widgets, iframes or embeds load on these pages.

You can also reach us by email. Clicking an email link on this site opens your own mail program, and the website itself sends nothing.

Either way, we hold only what you choose to send us: your name, your business name, your email address, a phone number if you include one, and whatever you tell us about what you need.

We use it to answer you, and, if we go on to work together, to provide our services.

This site is hosted on Vercel. As with any web host, the hosting infrastructure processes standard request information, such as an IP address, a browser user agent, the page requested and the time, in order to serve the page and to protect the service from abuse.

Our own application code does not read, record or analyse that information.

The typeface used on this site is downloaded when the site is built and served from our own site, so no font provider receives your IP address when you visit.

Images, icons and brand assets are served from our own site. There is no external content delivery network, media host or embed.

We link to our own ventures and to the Australian Business Register so you can check who we are. Following any link takes you to a website governed by its own privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of other sites.

An enquiry you send through the consultation form is delivered to us, and is handled by the service we use to receive it. Email you send us is handled by our email provider in the ordinary course of receiving mail. We do not share it with anyone else.

We may disclose information where we are required or authorised to by law.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

We do not collect a mailing list through this website and we do not send marketing from it.

The consent you give on the consultation form covers us contacting you about that enquiry. It is not consent to marketing, and we do not treat it as such. If you ever agree separately to receive updates from us, you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires.

Our website hosting and our email are provided by service providers whose infrastructure may be located outside Australia.

Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled appropriately.

If a data breach happens that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies to us, notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as we practically can.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. These rights come from Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13.
